Soap Bubble Hearts

Our silence drip-drops

And soaks the bed sheets.

How softly it does fall and die

Right where we made love,

Right here where we lie.

In the morning, we

Straighten the folds,

Smooth out every crease,

And again, we tell ourselves that

What we feel is a kind of peace.

Love is a mirage in soap bubble hearts

This is where it all ends, and 

That is where it starts.

We must love our own selves fully before we can expect another living being to do the same.

The capacity of soap bubbles is endless when sitting in a jet streamed spa.

It's often stated that we must love ourselves so that we may be loved. I think it's possible to love or be loved without that, but it will likely end in disaster as a person who is incapable of accepting (i.e. "loving") themselves will either reject the love given to them, or will be rejected as a result of self-sabotage.

Don't recall this poet writing in rhyme before, but he handles it well. The metaphor of romantic love as "a mirage in soap bubble hearts" is an apt one, for that kind of love is a temporary thing. When the honeymoon is over, it's time to decide whose turn it is to take the garbage out.

The problem with temporary things - which describes everything on this earth - is that though they fall apart, their effect lasts for a long time. In that sense, they are permanent.

Soap bubbles are incredibly beautiful, but they don't last. So fragile, they burst far too soon. Love can be like that too. Wonderful metaphor here and so emotive is this fabulous write.Well done Laz. I like this one alot.
