The Executioner

The Executioner

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

sometimes the simplest acts seem cruel

"
I watch
Flames falling upward
Devouring sister cold

I hear
Her screaming
The agony of slow death

And I
The Executioner
Offering another stick
For her to feed upon
Simply smile.

Ah! a roaring fire in winters grasp. So simple, so underrated and yet so welcome.
