here I keep going
You were A breath of fresh air on a warm day You were poetry and magic someone to rescue me. You were softness and light sweet night's love. You are The black stuff on a burnt pot. You are the dog doo that sticks to my shoe You are a knot in the pit of my stomach that just won't go away You are about to be my yesterday trying to insinuate in my today.

Thanks so much. I appreciate you stopping by.
Damn KL...the temperature sure changed quickly in this poetic work. I smiled, I frowned and then I smiled again. Very cool.
"the dog doo that sticks to my shoe" Do you know how hard it is to get that stuff off?

really like the last stanza...."yesterday/ trying to insinuate into today"
very cool line...and yes, what seems so good can really fool us...

Thanks much, I was not liking this one -- apparently I was a little hard on it.
Dog Doo that sticks to a shoe. There's nothing quite as abhorrent as that except maybe a d********g that comes up to your door with a handful of it yelling "look what I almost stepped in! " Ha!
As sharp as ever KL!

Thanks I appreciate that.
Oh god, this is perfect, it's amazing how someone we adored and cherished at one time can become the bane of our existence!
