choking on dry ice

choking on dry ice

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

inspired by Ance's Pretty Little Hate Machine

"
Standing in line
in the cold --
under dressed
for the weather
over dressed for
the night --
ushered in
the music pounds
everyone is looking
for the one they
might
take home --
bodies bump and grind
on the sticky floor.

I spend my time
looking oh so cool
with a cigarette in hand
trying to stand
on torturous spikes,
pulling my skirt down,
hoping to find you,
choking on dry ice.

Brings me back to another time in my life.....FM heels and tight dresses with a cocktail in one hand and a ciggy in the other. Those were the days....but were they really that good? I don't think so. You set the scene so well and brought us to it. Good one, Lyn. Lydi**

You gotta have the wiggle, pull, look bored thing down.
Now this takes me way back to a time when I used to smoke & do all those things, except for pulling my skirt down. Some things one just has to do in private, or maybe not. A very atmospheric write with just the right amount of smut.......

Thanks hon. Glad this little ditty is getting noticed again.
Back in the day it was an Ottawa band named Canada Goose playing Higher and Higher in a smoke filled bar.
Thanks for the memory.
