I already climbed that mountain

I already climbed that mountain

A Chapter by Lyn Anderson
"

thoughts before I leave

"
it wasn't just a hill
I climbed to get here.
It was a mountain,
stepping on backs of
crocodiles to find my way,
slithering through snake pits
bogged down in quicksand,
dodging fire and
slipping past rodents of unusual size --

but I made it
to the other side.

and if you think
I can't step over
you,
you haven't been listening ...

You act surprise
By my actions
Stating my indepence
Free of your manipulative ways.

As if
This is happening
Out of the blue
To you.

Truth is
My fledgling wings are
Ready for flight
To soar
Without you.

Your welcome, KL.
A fiesty and determined voice in this one 'M'. Good to feel the strength to be able to deal with the things you have been subjected to in life previously as you become immune to the blows.

Yes stepping up and asking and deciding my own fate thank you
last two lines such a kicker...

many times our significant others don't listen...or they just hear their own song and shut ours out...

Yes for sure thank you
A deja vu feeling in here , but again for me the rescuable thing is the positivity when you let us know that you can step over and that you are not willing to be manipulated anymore.

Thankyou
