By the river

I've been in my room for a few hours,

it's time for me to get out!

 

Where could I go?

Library?

Computer lab?

The Student Success Center?

The Student Union Building?

The cafeteria?

 

To tell you the truth I didn't decide any of those places

The library was closed

I didn't want to surf the internet

The Student Success Center was closed

The Student Union Building was also closed

And it was around 5 pm...

I didn't feel like eating

 

However, I did remember

that there was a river in my campus

and there was a little dock that I could go sit on

 

So I brought my mp3 and my homework to work on

and I went to Starbucks for a drink

 

Sitting on the dock was one of the most peaceful places to be

for me anyways

I was able to focus

and the music help set such a good mood to work on

 

I was able to get what I wanted done

and relax by the river

seeing the ripples in the water

seeing the wildlife interact with each other

 

I was in peace

Very unlucky to me, there's no river near any place I live. Thats why I really like the feeling of peace whenever I have them. and I like this poem a lot! You make me aware of how peace is needed in daily life... Nice written!
