Time Ago

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

When a young man I so loved you With heart and soul both bold and true

"

When a young man I so loved you

with heart and soul both bold yet true

The fates have come between us both

though my feelings still speak of you

This was a love without a ring

instead kept by the heart and kiss

That also didn't fall with time

nor with the childish loss of bliss

When love is tethered to the heart

possessed of happy devotion

The passing years will never dull

the height nor depth of that ocean

So it was as it should have been

this love bound only in spirit

Would not be shed of by the grave

nor by those who failed to hear it

Life the timeless healer has once again conquered all. As what was once a torrid tempest has become a minute squall. The Light that burns twice as bright lasts half as long!

So profoundly beautiful, expressed through the misted windows of time. You create such a longing for what was.. a reflection of love and life gone before... There is a rich depth in your words that connect us with such emotion. Wonderful write...truly.

I have to say Tate, I don't like your style. However, that didn't keep me from enjoying your poem and gettign a warm fuzzy feeling inside. I'm a sucker for love =) and you present that well in this piece.

Once again, this is expressed exceptionally well. Nicely penned.

like the ringing of a bell,
this one sang to me as well
true love is forever,through eternity,
lighting even the darkness,
before the world to see,
bound to earth in death,
Love's light sets us free...LonelySoul

Hi Tate,

Another beautiful poem. Love lost by death is so tragic and yes, marriage is not everything and need not even be associated with love. Love is held in the heart not in a marriage contract.

Best regards,

Rick

I have my own ideas as to what love is, won't preach .. but certainly the feelings you express in this wonderful poem exist fully and deeply, and. are incredibly precious. Whilst it might not apply in this case, maybe it's better to have loved and lost than to marry and end it all in anger and pain.

Your poem is a tragedy wrapped with beautiful love.

So wonderfully written and so beautiful. So true it is that love proved without marriage is a beautiful thing indeed!

I like the line 'A love not held within a ring'

Some interesting thoughts there, it's a nice read, and a good write.
