Queen of the Night

Queen of the Night

A Poem by Tate Morgan
"

So like the ebb and flow of tide life's joys and sorrows surrender To the never ending song of love we both give as much as we render

"

Look to the moon queen of night

she causes the ocean to attend her

And he so long as she is in sight

has full tide to kiss her tender

When she at last turns off her light

he calls the mighty waves to moan

With low ebb manifests his sorrow

heaving the fathoms with every groan

So you the keeper of my heart beat

have my joys attending your will

Lifting the weight so high and so deep

causing loves every wave to fill

When you are gone away from me

as you sometimes are known to depart

Causes my very soul to ache

waves of sorrow flow from my heart

So like the ebb and flow of tide

life's joys and sorrows surrender

To the never ending song of love

we both give as much as we render

Author's Note

Tate Morgan
There is a beautiful relationship between the soul of humanity and the sea.And any who have spent time at night listening to the calls from ancestors from across it know what I mean. The pulse of the ocean in the crashing waves say to us we are Home.

Beautiful. I'm at a loss for words.

The push and pull of the tides with the moon is the give and take in a relationship between the moon and the sea (man and woman). This was very well put! I like it very much!

This is so lovely. It reminds me of the Irish sea and the breeze blowing my hair everywhere. It is so charming. It gives such the personification of waves crashing. :)

Although you've used quite conventional images and the narrators voice is silent, this poem speaks loudly, with powerfull force of description and persuasion. It's influential.

I think the rhyme-scheme would be more effective if employed for all lines - ABAB... That would underline the majestic union between night, sea, moon, longing, deep soul emotion. Rhythm is off beat just because of that reason.

You use clear, puure but vibrating language, exact words and phrasing - this is a high-class poem.

Thank you very much!

It's the pulse, the rhythmic sounds of waves lapping the shoreline that is so peaceful and fulfilling. I also love to swim and play in the ocean. It is so invigorating.
