Eclipse

Eclipse

A Poem by LadySoDivine
"

The Sun loved the Moon so much, he died every night to let her breathe.

"
We were like the Moon and the Sun
Two lovers searching for each other,
But we could never really meet

When one came, the other was already gone
And as we often fell to the arms of another,
Our spirits would crumble to our feet

We knew of each other's existence
And so we desperately searched
Not realizing how close we really were

Our hope and unending persistence
Wanted us to meet, because we were perched
In each other's hearts forever

So you were the bright Sun
That lit up the sky and waited the whole day
For me with your loving flame

And I was the Moon
Lonely in the night, leaving in dismay
Whenever the morning came

But finally one day, we caught up.
Your flames caressed me
And we could finally share a kiss

I finally saw you, in your magnificent sunup,
And everything that we could be
In our consuming, beautiful eclipse.

Author's Note

LadySoDivine
It's been a while. :) It feels good to finally write something again.
And one more thing, please if you could leave your opinion, I've been told that I tend to get a tad repetitive in my poems (all of them usually on the same theme etc), so I would like to hear what you think about that.

This is the first poem of yours ive reviewed so i cant comment on repeitition.

I thought it was going to be sloppy love piece, but you used the metaphor of the sun and moon brilliantly, it really painted a picture in my head, and you wrapped it up beutifully with the eclipse. great writing, ill look at some more of your work now.

Like kismet that was inevitably going to explode, love that you eclipsed the moon and sun....romantic & steamy hot in the same breath.

This is great my friend. Loving the format and the theme. You have captured this so beautifully. Who is our soul mate, are they out there waiting for our encounter. I assume the answer is yes in your case. Love this one.

This is a amazing poem. Gave life to the sun and the moon. I like the journey and the positive ending. Good to fall into a beautiful eclipse. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
