soft hearts

soft hearts

A Poem by kathy rivers
"

they're just so fragile...

"
What do you do
When your mind's a living hell
Filled with demons and monsters
And you're trapped beneath their spell?
What do you say
When someone asks if you're okay
But the truth is, it's a struggle
To even make it through the day?
Yet, it all comes down to one thing:
Who you think you can trust
When you've been hurt too many times before
And it's usually because...
You're too soft and you know it
Just accept the truth
You don't know how to stop them
From taking advantage of you...
Still, it wouldn't be so bad
If it weren't for one small thing...
It's sad but quite true, you know
soft hearts break so easily...

please be careful if you ever meet someone who has a soft heart... they are always so loving, but just break so easily...

Soft hearts love the deepest, are intuitive with grace, and more sensitive to everything in life. Your voice is a beautiful one, and I'm glad that you have chosen poetry as your outlet for expression. It can be so cathartic when you have no one else to turn to. I think it's also easier to express yourself through words than through vocal chords at times. I encourage you to keep writing. It will help you grow and give you the most beautiful wings. Well penned.

There are many truths in your words. Soft hearts are easy to break.

Soft hearts belong to passionately caring people.

no problem!!!
soft hearts break easily....and broken hearts retract and tend to not give love a chance...trust is hard to rebuild once we have done that and burned burned too many times.

I completely agree!
This is a beautiful piece of poetry which touched me Kathy. Soft hearts do indeed suffer more. They are hurt easily and yet they are the most giving and loving. Lovely work.
