Wardrobe

Wardrobe

A Chapter by Rosalie Santerino
"

shhhh ....

"

Open the wardrobe door and look inside

Something to wear I am trying to find

Her skirts are just perfect if I adjust the length

Her shoes I have to admit are much better

I don’t know who should be happier

That she is my size or that I am hers

I try and buy similar clothes and yet

No matter what hers are much better

The colours match and go right with my eyes

And the material always feels just right

The swishing and clinging in all the right place

My own things in comparison seem to fade

It takes a lot to learn to give them away

I am hoping in my chest they can stay

If I do not mention that it was me

Hopefully then neither will she

When I get complimented I glow with pride

And make sure I wear her stuff most of the time

But if I ever get asked where they come from

I would never admit they were taken from my mum
