Never forget.

Never forget.

A Chapter by Rosalie Santerino
"

All the children in the world.

"

“I never hurt her” this he swears

“She just tumbled down those stairs”

The child watches the scene and cries

How can mum believe these lies?

A prayer for every child in the world

A single dream for every boy and girl

Pleading for freedom and the chance

To have the live they have never had

The child stands on the pavement all alone

Wondering where her parents have gone

Minuets becomes hours as the rain begins to fall

Are they even coming back at all?

A prayer for every child in the world

A single dream for every boy and girl

Pleading for freedom and the chance

To have the live they have never had

The child can’t show how scared he is

It is too much for one as young as him

But his siblings rely on him so he must try

Is this how it’s going to be the rest of his life?

A prayer for every child in the world

A single dream for every boy and girl

Pleading for freedom and the chance

To have the live they have never had

She can hear the footsteps in the morning light

She leaves knowing she won’t come back this time

Will they even notice her room now lies bare?

Or will it simply be as though she was never there

A prayer for every child in the world

A single dream for every boy and girl

Pleading for freedom and the chance

To have the live they have never had
