Thoughts of a Runaway

Thoughts of a Runaway

A Poem by Bridget Murphy

If I saw me through your eyes,
Would I laugh or would I cry?

And if I were to die tonight,
Would any tears cloud your sight?

But if these words were said to you today,
Would kindness be in the words you'd say?

Nice use of rhetorical questions to arouse thoughts and further questions.
The first stanza was my favorite--it had me confused at first, which actually turned out to be a good thing, since the entire poem is meant to provoke thought, as Aianarie said.
And ah! what a question. If I were to die tonight.....

Well done!

Good subject choice. A lot of people have wondered about something similar, if not the same thing, before. If you write about things that people find impactful, people read them.
I loved it. Short and simple, and very impactful.

The poem is short. A lot of thoughts create by the strong statements. I tell people. If you desire a escape. Have the needed tools to survive and go forward. The questions allowed the reader to feel the pain and hurt. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poem.

For such a short poem, these lines provoke many thoughts with their unanswered questions. Quite inspiring. Great write!
