Know That I Too
We are never alone (a poem for mental health month)

A Poem by Chris Shaw

storm's marauding afterlife
leaves eyes of sunrise squinting
.
brooding cloud formations
hang in black curtain heaviness
.
lined with a sliver of silver hem
gleaming with uncertain promise
.
hurled through rough salty waters
from ocean's dark disturbed bed
.
tossed in a surge of soapy foam
angriest of roller-coasters ride in
.
fossils flung far in shifting swell
beached upon dampened sand
.
naked on soft islands surrounded
by wet glistening shingle sharps
.
ammonites bellemnites picked
by fingers clinging to jurassic finds
.

I felt like I was there with you dear Chris, after the storm, looking for treasures.... Something I just love to do.
Rained heavily here today but now it is sunny....and we are in June... Oh those poor vacationers... not been great here the past two weeks...
We of course love it... Rain...means not as much watering...

So it's not only us northerners getting 17 seasons in one day then Chris? Sun, rain, hail and even snow in cairngorm yesterday, which if it is going to snow, is the ideal place to do it, seeing as it's a skiing attraction. But in May??? Only in these strangest of days can that happen. I wonder if this is us reverting to old testament wrath of the gods and fully expect locusts and hooves from the four horsemen any minute now.
Shh! Don't speak too soon, but today is clear skies and that yellow sky blob thing is even shining. Hope it blows all those brooding clouds of yours away, but not up here please, blow them towards France instead please 😊

Very true.
this reminds me of all of the dinosaurs I see in the clouds after a storm...

how beautiful and sort of scary.

the brooding is sort of my life in between the storms.

a present from the ocean. years and years may have passed slowly before that happening. a clue, a sign from the past coming to greet the present is always something to behold.
