Felt

Felt

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(A recent dream while suffering from COVID)

"
there were no cathedrals
domes or church spires
or even heavenly choirs
while i dreamed in the clutch
of COVID

yet there was peace
a blinding flashing of lights
against the backdrop of a
vast ebon sky

and there was singing too
a song of eternal love
emanating from the presence
of a pulsating brightness

a voice not recognized
mesmerized me it did
no doubt that it was my song
lyrics written for me and me
alone

brimful was I to overflowing
knowing that i had lived
and there was love from another
to the depths and heights
of the unknown

my poet’s mind wanders
runs wild and free
no big deal
though the tears left on
my pillow on waking
were no figment of imagination
they were real

Many thank yous Thomas.

Glad you recovered. Cosmically bright. A crossover that sent you back. Perhaps you seen the light, or the light has seen you.

Great read,

With love

A lovely view from the bridge between this world and what lies beyond. I am glad that you have recovered to share your dreams and perspective. The mere mention of Covid can cause a fury of opinion and theories from so many, but the ravages it can take on those suffering can be tremendous. I know as I see it first hand and help care for and nurse those afflicted back to *this* side.

Goodness, cancer and Covid?! You're a survivor, and a fine poetess. Sorry to hear about the tears, but there's no shame in feeling something deeply. Maybe if there were more of that, the world would be a better place. Anyways, great read!

This is beautiful, though coming from a place of illness. Our dreams give us gifts sometimes, and I see many here, even with the tears.
I love this....

Chris, I'm in wonder of the depth of feeling you were able to recall and then relate to us. I have had some friends who have suffered and thank goodness survived it. None of them gave as vivid description as vou. I'm so glad you are well.

I "understand" Chris... Your faith gave you the opportunity to interact in those moments... Too few of us have interacted, but after you have - the certitude and depth of our experience remains unshaken.
