Is It Written In The Stars?

A Poem by The Rock And Roll Cowboy(REBEL WITH A CAUSE)

Everything has become clear

As the midnight sky,

Every star is a piece of the puzzle

Each one a glimmer into my

                        Past, present or future.

Before hidden in the clouds of uncertainty

And the bright lights of the cities pain and misery

Now they shine brightly for infinity to see.

They light the way through endless

Space of hopes and dreams.

Some even connect to make out

The real me for caring eyes to gaze upon.

In the end the stars may not have written my destiny

But with so many ablaze in my minds galaxy

The options are  as endless as sky I keep my eyes fixed upon.

Well said, I'd like you to consider revising your last sentence Dale, it is a fragment.
The options are as endless as sky I keep my eyes fixed upon...
The options are as endless as the sky my eyes are fixed upon.......suggestion.
........as the sky I feast my eyes upon........suggestion.
Beautiful thoughts here.

this is a beautiful piece here...and I love the fate/destiny versus the chaos kind of theme. How much of our paths are pre-determined for us...and how much do the choices we make decide our end results...there is something about the endless expanse of sky that re-focuses our attention from within to without - Is it written in the stars? surely no real answer to the question except in the personal realm of our own hearts.

Nicely done Dale, you have that gift that shelters visionaries and brings forth the light from the darkness. I enjoyed reading your poem.

I love how the external scene becomes a reflection of the internal. It's a very grounded poem while also being uplifting.

Love your title: "Is it Written in the Stars?" Most of us have heard that we can read our destinies in the stars-whether or not we actually adhere to that is a matter of personal opinion, but that's besides the point. I am thinking that is what you are getting at. Catchy title. Draws the reader right in. It goes without saying, questions make powerful titles!

Every star is a piece of the puzzle

Each one a glimmer into my

Past, present or future.

Picturing them as a puzzle is thought provoking...

I especially like your ending...

In the end the stars may not have written my destiny

But with so many ablaze in my minds galaxy

The options are as endless as sky I keep my eyes fixed upon.

Upbeat, encouraging...Gives one the feeling that "The Sky is the Limit!"

Great job, Dale!

I decided that it was indeed a beautiful piece, but the title isn't doing it for me. I mean, the question is asked...but very vaguely, almost in passing. Most of this is about what you see in the sky.
Maybe change the title. But maybe I'm just a bit strange and I missed a point and that caused my confusion about the title.
Lovely work.
