Oklahoma

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

For the people of Moore Oklahoma.

"

My heart was broken in Oklahoma
Jewel of the Midwest
A twisted hand screamed from the sky
and ripped it from my chest

My broken body was smashed to pieces
Thrown down on the street
I was nothing but a ripped up rag doll
Cowering at her feet

My blood my bones my life's existence
The muscle under my skin
Wrapped around her indifferent fingers
trapped in her deadly spin

She doesn't know and she doesn't care
The Wind Zephyr of death
She screamed across our great heartland
She was on my last breath

There's nothing left she took it all
With her blinding fury
Disappeared into her vile black sky
Leaving dead to bury

You have such a unique writing style. You bring a lot of emotion to what you write. Nothing is simple but you express it clearly. I really felt your words in this poem. The sense of loss and upheaval. It is a tragedy that so many were lost in this wicked storm. I thank you for putting words to the pain of the victims.

i swear, Mark, you amaze me. sometimes you write the extremely profane and the terminally silly, but every once in a while....you pen the most poignant and beautiful poetry , so full of emotion and pathos. this is one of your masterpieces, my friend....going to my faves.

Seeing such tragedies always makes me so thankful that I live in the Northeast where the worst we get is a bit of snow, and even that I do enjoy. It's a reminder, filled with sadness of how people just can't fight against the weather. It comes.

Yes it does
This was a heartbreaking poem, Ricochet, quite different from other writes, not in the rhythm, more in the feelings incited
