SlaughterHouse Dreams

SlaughterHouse Dreams

A Poem by Baby Ricochet
"

It's a poem. With rhymes and s**t.

"

Got a job in a slaughterhouse
on top of grinding gears
Strapping pigs to electric chairs
for bovine profiteers

Wrap hooves with conductor wire
Then throw the killing switch
I work for piss and vinegar
Make profits for the rich

Exploit the lands of Africa
Cow them with the lash
Our founding fathers ambitions
A slave holder's panache

Running guns across the desert
Rape the land for spoils
Waging war for profit margins
The price of diamond oil

Exploiting fears of terrorism
So hate can germinate
Turn the land of milk and honey
Into a fascist state

Ride the backs of common people
Until we're broken down
Profiteers eat all our children
while we all slowly drowned

Working in this slaughterhouse
listening to the screams
Watching entrails on the walls
turn into payday dreams

Stick electrodes into piggy
one last screaming squeal
Hit the switch electric twitch
then hang it on the wheel

Very graphic and every bit of reality. Sir you have penned another gem here. The underliying meaning is felt hard and heavy. Very cool.

First, HA! at that Author's Note because I feel like you are looking directly at me when you are saying it xD

Okay...Oh man. Lots of filthy imagery in this. It made me uncomfortable in such a really really good way. You've touched a lot of nerves with this one and I can't thank you enough for sharing it with us. Superior job, Mark...

My pleasure, always.
The truth is more grotesque than the imagery. Very well written!

This has BR written all over it, told as only you could do, powerful and electricfyingly shocking, and yet, so many truths, thought provoking, you do it best Mark!

A multi.layered piece of writing here, has a strange kind of grace, says what and how it is in fine metered phrasing. i could rant on in agreement with you. Brilliant!

There is no deed to low for some to make a buck. Sometimes I wonder if we humans are actually made up of a number of species, sociopaths, psychopaths, and then the just plain greedy. You capture a lot of the ugliness that hides in the shadows and behind high walls. I can see why this poem has graced the popular list it's really good. You do political commentary quite well.

Thank you Blue.
I work for piss and vinegar, so going to use that in a fit of rage in future jobs :P I know there is a double meaning to this poem, comes from a place deep inside.. a dark place that most people would need to project to make life easier..thank you for sharing. excellent write.

This sent shudders through me. How we have fallen. Money alone matters. We leave no legacy for kids and not to say of such cruelty to animals. Very well said Baby!

This is pretty deep. It talks about some serious issues, but at the same time has kinda a comical turn. I enjoyed reading this. Thank you, Rico.
