The Spark

Sometimes I'd kind of like

the kind of life that only lays down

To have time to watch the stars

slowly drift across the sky.

Did you ever wonder why this happens

to the girl who did everything right?

And what of this boy

This boy who prayed she was the one?

Are we supposed to believe that all our wishes are in vain?

Then why don't we all just give up?

 

Some spark of hope,

some spark of passion,

still burns within.

And no one can fight it and win,

though they may try sometimes.
