A Poem by drcornelius

All the pieces make no sense

where is the guiding whole

I think it must be somewhere

deep within my soul

But I think I’ll never find it

as I’m poking at these keys

Perhaps my vision would improve

If I looked from on my knees

But I will never seek the truth

lying prostrate on the floor

The last time god appeared to me

I threw her out the door

She told me she would light the way

if I gave her who I am

If that’s what it takes to see the light

then I don’t give a damn

I think I’d rather go on blindly

stumbling in the dark

Than give myself to a religious con

sizing up another mark

Honesty in its truest form. We all follow what we believe is true and that's what's important. This reminds me of a someone on a journey to find something. Soul searching. They look in every nook and cranny and in the end of the day what they find is themselves. Self-discovery is so precious. At the end of the day, we know who we are. Great read.

I love your rant, perfectly balanced & not offensive at all. Unless you’re a charlatan! *smile* I came to my faith late in life exactly BECUZ of these “shove-it-down-your-throat”/obligatory-guilt-trippers who think any one way is the only way. Makes me barf. So refreshing to hear this put straight & true in snappy words to give it a playful effect (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
