" beckoning the sound of birds awaking
welcoming the needs of the soil
painting the pages as yet unsullied
inviting love from a mortal's coil"
Not only beautiful words painting a wonderful image but deep in metaphor. Whether awakening from sleep or intellectually, spiritually, emotionally it dives into meaning of life and each day as a new start.
" exchanging flight for silence said"
The wisdom of age and the giving up or youth's dreams I hear in this line.
"raising my eyes to a naked oak's core
or a pillow 'pon an outdoor bed"
Not only great word choice but metaphor deep as the oak's core. A wonderful poem.

A sensitive tribute, loved the music, loved all the perfect way you puzzled your words, so well fit together…..yes I like the golden hair as well…a beauty from the start rhythmic resolutions…..”his yesterdays words crowded the walls”…you’ve outdone yourself again….
Wonderful!
Warmly,

had no idea what "you know what" is, dear one ;) read some comments and then had to look up your Tom Hardy revealing my poor literary education .. loved the experience of your poem, Em! beautiful images .. sweet, deep connections with nature and our seasons .. ".. naked oak's core.. " can "...towelling of golden hair" are subtle and beautifully sensuous to me .. as winter is settling in real good here in the Ozarks and more so North ... your poem turns thoughts to warmer awakenings and more .. finely tuned poem .. i am a bit blind to the metaphors others speak of; but seeing deeper than your words isn't necessary for me .. love love love .. all we need is love

I romp with words sometimes, just let them write selves.. think they do a better job than my pen does! If you don't 'get' my metaphors it is probably because I'm hopeless at creating them! Take great care of yourself, please.
another attempt at you know what ... well, I must say it's a bloody marvelous attempt. One a certain other local, you may know him, Thomas somebody or other, would gladly tip his cap towards.
Beautiful poem Em.

There are gentle debates as to whether or not his books are better than his poetry or vice versa! Strangely, I love daisies and buttercups.. thank you. Must do quite a lot of reviews over the next dayor so.. and will, Ken e Bujold. May I ask where your surname originates - there's history there? Ignore if not my business.

Some in the clan believe we are descended from wise Acadians, who read the tea leaves and kept one step ahead of the British expulsion from Nova Scotia. Others believe we were among the handful of sturdy souls who accompanied Champlain when he first stepped foot on the new continent. The truth, as best as I can tell, when both, and a bit more. 30 odd yrs ago I did my best to trace the family roots for my father and his aging siblings. What a mess! One branch of the tree named 3 daughters the same name, Rosalind, and two were even alive at the same time!! Anyhow, we may have originated from Limousin, in France, or the Guernsey Islands, or Neptune :) I could trace us back with fair certainty to the early 1700s. That's the French part. The other 3/4. English. Irish and Scot all mixed in. Like I am fond of saying, my ancestors were politely asked, or unceremoniously expelled from every self-respecting duchy across the pond. And I am proud of it.

How marvellously muddled yours is too.. laughable in parts but - even that has made you - you. Have only just discovered your name also belongs to a highly acclaimed female science fiction writer.
