Purple Vision

Purple Vision

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Purple Vision

his fingers twist and turn

around the respondent strings

of a white guitar,

the pure color of doves

notes cry,

lips tremble with song

eyes flashback

a dad's dark writing

the keys he smacked

the cheeks blue and black

his pops would die for her

he would die for you

then those tracks became the reality

that shot through the veins of his life

as his eyes slowly closed

with one last

painful blink.

Beautiful. I have been unable to write anything to express my sorrow at his passing, but you have done quite well. ~Jim

Hopefully this is a bit premature in suggesting cause of death. But whether that or some other imaginary fatal dose of any other life substance or experience permeating his veins, you've managed to convey an original statement to pay tribute to a masterful artist. Thanks for honoring him.

this is a wonderful tribute with your legendary pen, jacob. James thought of Jimmy Hendrix but isn't the title a clear indication that you penned this as a tribute to Prince? or am I reading this all wrong?

I'm going to have to think about this one Jacob. I'm getting so much, artistic torment, abuse, and addiction. It reads like a tragic story. The first thing that came to my mind was Jimmy Hendrix.
