when the clouds become us

when the clouds become us

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

when the clouds become us

some people cry blue rainbows
into the dead of night,
and their rock hard pillows
substantiate the pain of life

rain and tears not distinguishable
they are all water under a damaged bridge
the heart's trestles beyond repair
some people cry blue rainbows

color blind emotions follow the arc
and love sits atop some mountain of longing
moons after the deluge dries up
some people cry blue rainbows

in a sky that is reluctant to clear
no matter how hard the sun tries
to shine on them.

when life is sad and painful the sun can only refract blue from the tears and rain... I've seen those rainbows from time to time...

thank you kind sir...for your insightful words,

j.
Thought provoking, rain and pain are quite similar on their own, they do bear a silent message... I like the fact that you quite brilliantly placed their true meaning through this poem... A stunning one!

Sincerely

The Title Swiftly dragged me here and the tone and rhythm enchantingly made me glad it did.
These writes are kinda special for me, because you so rarely write with soft emotion and directly describe what it is your thinking. No Guessing the meaning or intent just vivid descriptive romance of expression.
When You do it's like those memorable, romantic nights that I treasure so much. It reminds me of pillow talk.

I have one complaint... It ended too soon and felt like something missing. Maybe it's intentional.
I can visualize Multi shades of blue making a beautiful Arc. But it does take Rain and Sun to make rainbows.
Perhaps in the light even those blue rainbows are something to behold and cherish. Maybe sometimes melancholy is a good thing. Makes us appreciate the colors more. I wonder what Marie would of said... I remember when i wrote about reaching only for the light she made a good point that sometimes you have to find the light in the darkness. Just Thoughts. Missed ya. Sorry I've been gone so much. I'm still gardening and adding and propagating trees, bushes and vines

:-)...... Thank You
some people, mostly those under 25, are the lovers of misery. The older you get on this planet
you realize that blue fades into pink in such rapid succession that whatever testimony you had
for the blue can turn so quickly into a tribute for the pink. When the clouds become us Jacob
we are the doom that was predicted. Yet I refuse.

great poem my friend. dana

Life is a funny old thing some people seem to thrive in the dark, and choose to stay there. While many of us experience it in seasons, I love the last three lines. Thoughtful and compassionate tone.

Some people are happy only when they are miserable....difficult to understand, but true. Water does flow under that damaged bridge, but often the water becomes stagnant. As always, the metaphor is wonderful. Lydi**

I'm having breakfast with the clouds. Time remembers when my rain shared its tears.
