it happens every creak of the bed spring

it happens every creak of the bed spring

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

it happens every creak of the bed spring

the laces of my tennis shoes

undo

as i run back to you in my dreams

and you laugh as i trip into your arms

waking as i hit the floor

of posture

hugging my pillow

as if your skin woke me into habit

i never really stop running

but you never quite catch me

either.

You pack a powerful punch in just a few words. A very poignant write, Jacob. I have written similar. I do think this is something many of us have been through, and those of us who have, can most certainly relate. Sometimes, I wish I could forget! :P Nice ink!~

You are most welcome. :)
this has such a cute romantic side that balances with such a sad one, if it's possible to make a person feel two ways simultaneously this is as close as it gets.

This is so full of feeling. Tripping into the arms of the one you love- whether it is a dream or reality- is something everyone would wish for. The ending is amazing. Impressive piece. Keep writing.

Wit painted into romance. I can see the pictures and empathise with the moments.

Totally relatable for most of us i should think. Put very simply making it all that more effective, really like, and can relate to this.

This is a tough one, one we've all been through. The mind is so cruel when you can see and feel someone who no longer belongs in your life.
