love lies bleeding

love lies bleeding

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

love lies bleeding

bulletproof heart,
yet you had those damn darts
that penetrate a cop's armor
and i never even wore a badge

just the blue.

No matter how much armour we wear there's always someone out there that has what it takes to penetrate it. Blue turns to red, and then often back to blue.

You need to be a household name, my friend. This is as great as it gets. Big things come in small packages.

the title of this write captured my attention...
very indicative of when when is caught amidst of dealing
with constant heart ache *a cycle *. i can't help but share RomaJ's sentiments :
this also brings back uninvited memories that i had to deal with...
(not that long ago.)
as well as i'm sure most have /are dealing with. not a pleasant place
to be or have been, to say the least!. your ink drops
always leaves an indelible impression upon the reader.
also, love the title. always a pleasure to visit your art, jacob :) xo

Damn. This brings back fond memories for me..:) "love lies bleeding", but I don't know from where...I can't tell anymore...if it's from my broken heart or my wounded ego. I know I'll live either way. That sob..haha
But it was fun while it lasted...The pain. Reminds us that we're still alive.

The most impenetrable walls... I also love 'just the blue' which, for me is a clever use if the word blue, to also reference the heart break.

lots packed into this short graphic poem ... rough roads thicken ones armor but its never enough when ammunition has been honed to such deadly intent .. laying there in a heap one is grateful for the blues eh!? ;)

Some people can get through our walls....and all too often they are the people who know just how to hurt us. I don't think a bulletproof heart is a reality....if only. Indeed, too many of us wear that blue. Lydi**
