Dial Ego for Murder

Dial Ego for Murder

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Dial Ego for Murder

disparage my heart,

insult my love

placate your own vanity

assuage the impatience of your

superfluous, spandex mind

but never doubt that sincerity

gets its revenge.

my ego has tried to murder me many a time, It now has a muzzle and a mirror and is reduced to murmurs:) no room for ego in poetry says the bunny brother Jacob:/ but that revenge stuff well that's what I am hoping for

thank you, brother bunny...
yes, no room for it at all...
Getting down to the dirt now in the election.
Sadly, those two aren't fit to lead America.
Bad times ahead me thinks.

I know many feel as you do, Paul...will be a strange election for sure.

The vain and mendacious may spin their webs of deceit, sooner or later, "the truth will out" -- as my Gran always said.

Love the title. Does ego get its revenge, a bit like karma. Another smart write where the raw edges are polished.

perhaps it does, also...but i like sincerity's revenge much better..:)))
What a title (and an ending). Very much like a murder mystery novel a-la-ego converted into poem form. Hats off!

The finest words as ever, dear sir., placing your thoughts in such an exacting way. No guesswork needed, tis there to read, to understand the skill of its presence.. and a nod of agreement alongside. Bur sometimes an ego whispers cos is afraid to be heard then analysed and found seriously in need of.. all sorts. Perhaps.

Agreed. I like to hope and think that the since and that those with integrity do win in the end. But it gets harder and harder to believe that.
