interesting picture here... reminds me about Sylvia Plath and her suicide which unfortunately getting accelerated in today's world.. this virus has us all indoors..
... depression raising; affecting mental health; wellness, chronically and periodically... such a verbiage of nature or may be.. humankind... and we are all paying for what's being caused by.. not only to blame China but could be anybody trapped in... suicide notes or death-trail depression... and this is what exactly "Where We Are, She Was."

so true what you say, here Wordsmith...so true.
thank you for your insight.

I love how you tie together two very different eras into a startling comparison. It's amazing how some people consider walking into a crowded room unprotected as getting back to everyday life & others see it as suicide. Past week bumping up to nearly 80K new cases per day & nearly 1300 deaths on a few of those days. I don't like the odds (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Gotta love that corner we're turning! Deaths at an all-time high today as well, over 1300. How can people buy his s**t en masse?
.............................. absolutely and mind blowingly spot on jacob ... I wonder & truly, whether she might have thought of that .. or maybe it would have been too slow, or too hit n miss .. at first, anyway

probably too slow....she was awfully impulsive.
thank you, Neville,

Very true, Jacob, and it makes one wonder whether she would actually still do that.....a crowded room in a pandemic and just expose herself to possible death. Somehow it just doesnt seem urgent enough for her liking. This is a profound and original thought you had. Makes one ponder the possibilities. Very creative. 💛

Yes, an easier way to go initially it seems. But on reflection it could become long and drawn out. Not only that painful. I think in her shoes I'd still opt for the gas oven.
COVID-19's death rate is really quite low--except, of course, for older folks who may already be ailing.
Poetic point well made, however.
Nothing confounds or seems more wasteful, than most suicides.
A very novel way of highlighting our current predicament by using Plath's suicide and the 'risk' faced from Covid, although I am not so sure it is such a worry. In 2105 50,000 died in the UK from flu, currently we are up to 45,600 from Covid. that includes anyone who has died within 28 days of a positive test. My 93 year old uncle died earlier this year from natural causes but had a positive covid test and was counted in!
