Ten

Ten

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

Ten

her allure
caused a leer

shadow boxing eyes
swooped to the center of her ring

she casually threw a glance to the gut
he stumbled

her lips bled "I love you"
in silent count

and he went down for it.

There are indeed many less pleasant ways to be punched out. Some knockouts are definitely not technical ones.

so true, John, so true.
A great metaphor!
We get in that ring to fight but against an opponent such as the one described in this poem we always lose.

A great metaphor ….a lively love tryst…sensual, desirous, an at the end they both landed down on the count of ten, , but on the bed….
Very clever J….

A beautiful woman can make men swoon...and forget what they were about to do. More heady than a potent potable, yup. To be such a woman is to be fortunate in life. Lydi**

And no cut man in the corner to razor the eye lids.
