Not fair to speak about us women like that, not all of us are the same ;> sill I can't blame men some temptations are out of control aren't they? on another hand as I read your words here I think of jealously to the extreme that "she" would kill him instead of letting him go to another one, the SCARIEST version of faithfulness LOL. your imagination goes sometimes beyond written words Mr. J.

Never trust a beautiful woman! Or a female politician..
Just joking. Badly, I may add. A strange little play on the spider and the fly. Kinda makes me think of addiction. Well written, my friend.

Oh, we are the deadliest of the species, aren't we? And yet the male seems all to willing (even eager) to be devoured. There are consequences to love, to flight, to curiosity. Sometimes those consequences are a sticky web and empty veins. Love the imagery here. And the feeling of impending doom!
oh man!! such an illness ... that love and loss of senses allow a woman to ensnare a man ... a fly in her web ... to toy with and he, drunk on the vamps bite .. really like this ... ah if I were younger with boys still to raise I would read them this warning poem .. super good stuff brother!

Ok, I had a much different perception. Don't laugh, but judging from the title, I thought it was going to be about a women's jeans. I think I prefer my mental image to tarantula breath and spider arms...but hey, the mind is a terrible thing to waste! ; )

If she asks you into her parlor you shouldn't go. Mary Howitt warned us against such invitations. This poem reads like a modern echo of her work. It's always a pleasure to read your words. I enjoyed. F.

I just finished "Selections from Browning". "The Last Ride Together" was a favorite for me. I especially love the part where he addresses the poet. I had just finished a book by EBB titled Mrs. Browning. I enjoyed both. How wonderful it would have been to have spent an afternoon with her and her husband.

I remember a quote from an episode of "Criminal Minds" where the psychologist says, "Yes, monsters are real but they have human faces."
