Pendleton clash

with October painting

 

a yard of foliage

overlooking a chilled pond

she was dashing

 

movie star sway

her eyes forever captured

within the colors

 

of the Kodachrome slide

journeying into the future

preserving the moment

 

as another leaf

floated to the ground

behind her.
