disappearance

disappearance

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

disappearance

staring into yesterday
hypnotically focused
on how we touched
minds, hearts

lips
bonded
adhesive passion
eloquent arousal of adolescent query
our world moving so fast

we outran each other's dreams
the answers slept with us

and then were gone by morning.

You are right Jacob. I still can fast-walk and you are welcome Jacob.
"We outran each other's dreams." Love this line! The spark of youth promises so much. For all its prismatic shine, the bubble bursts; and we are left saturated with the memories. Well penned, Jacob.

Youth and all the hope of young love. Some like a flash in a teflon pan. Others stuck when it would gave been better they hadn’t. Where are our disappeared dreams now and what are they doing? How quickly the years pass. I look back and confess I wouldn’t want to be back there now.

I turn thirty this year and even I sometimes feel like my youth was like a one night stand....full of moments of dazzling brilliance, plenty of adolescent query, hopes and dreams....and then it was just gone and now I am left laying in the crumpled sheets as I look towards the middle ages. Life does move so fast and seems to get faster as we age. Poetry like this allows us to look back with a smile even if those days have disappeared forever. Such a bittersweet musing. I felt the longing in every line.

Reliving adolescence via memory doesn’t seem to clarify the butter. The cake still comes out confused.

Sounds like a wild night to me. Love at times comes and goes quickly and other times it hangs around forever. Nice one my friend.

What a brilliant line! I loved it. You create such a perfect memory of the innocence and naivete of youth. Simply beautiful to read.

How well this touches those moments of young lovve ... the excitement ... the heartache ... the amazement that it all passed so quickly ... and now we sit looking back through our old age and wondering what happened.

I like this one j. Thanks for the memories
