love, hurt and good rain

love, hurt and good rain

A Poem by jacob erin-cilberto

love, hurt and good rain

goodbyes are intermittent

showers

postponing affection

till the clouds are removed from the field

of play

and

love resumes

albeit a shortened game

infinity has too many pitching changes anyway

and the glove fits only so long

and then blisters

cause the heart to be thrown off

praying for a shower

so affection has the opportunity

to fester once again.

Yet another inspiring metaphor. Rain nurtures the flowers so they can bloom. Without it, they won’t survive. Love needs nurturing too. There will be dry spells and then revival. That is often the way on our journey through life. We win some, we lose some. Beautiful thoughts J, though somewhat sad.

Alas, we are no longer the boys of summer but the game goes on. I enjoyed this.

I wish the spectators, the fans can fill stadium to watch our games we play; we could be rich...but, alas, the rain dampens the chances, the storms move on to another chance.
An excellent metaphor . Too many lines to quote.

Wow! You are welcome sir Jacob.
Love as a baseball game, with goodbyes like rain delays, longing for affection to return despite challenges - I really like the metaphors used.

Seems love is not always on the winning side, jacob.. and that's only too true. Your ability to write briefly but succinctly, with a superb use of every-day your way metaphors, amazes me!
