I love when writers take a figure of speech (here I am assuming it is "sweating bullets") and use parts of it to make such a loaded and witty and interesting line. Amazing work as always :))

Sadly we live in violent times and currently democracy is under real threat. Guns are a real problem, but then so are knives. Sickened by the constant killings. Strong write J.
Wow. A lot of bad energy around today and this kind of speaks its name. Seems like "democracy" our way is kind of losing its momentum. Anyhow, interesting write. ~Jim
There were a lot of kids in that crowd of over thirty thousand. I doubt any of them were getting drunk or smoking but I likewise doubt any of those kids will ever forget it.

If we didn't have guns they'd be killing each other with knives, spears, arrows and stones. The Chinese in San Francisco and other areas once had an organized crime assassin cult called the Tong who were called hatchet men or highbinders because they killed with handheld axes. These multiple murders were the main reason for the anti-Asian sentiments directly following the Civil War, along with prostitution, gambling and opium sales. But one vice usually preceded the other.
grim and gripping a metaphor of darkness. So true is what makes it so dark. Human history is full of one's benefit from the miseries of others. Bob Dylan wrote Masters of War in this same tone. As always I love your work and bow to your mastery.
The writing contrasts casual party activities with violent imagery, highlighting a dark satire on society's desensitization to violence. The indifferent attitude towards serious events, culminating in forgetfulness, underscores a critique of societal apathy. It's a powerful, provocative piece that challenged me to reflect on serious issues through its stark, unsettling imagery.
