Bittersweet Love

Bittersweet Love

A Chapter by Erica Ross
"

It finally hit me. What's understood ain't gotta be explained. I love you.

"
"Lord, please say she's alright.
If only for this night
just tell me she's alright."
I'll never do this again
I promised to myself
You are my last time
Giving me to no one else
Give me a peace of mind
Chasing after mediocre wealth
Worried about me, yet concerned about her health.
"Lord, please say she's alright.
If only for this night
just tell me she's alright."
Cause she can't understand why I can't love her anymore
Why I don't touch, kiss her or look at her the same anymore.
I never thought it would go this far
Yes ma'am, you were way more than what I bargained for,
I'll never forget those summer days when you popped up at my door
In my eyes you were a friend, but your heart, it wanted more.
Fast-forward a year later,
The situation is s****y but the love's a lot greater
I bet you still feel like you're chasing after me
Working hard as you can just to say yeah, "she chose me."
I know you think I'm an a*****e
And if you had it in you, you'd probably kill me
But I wrote this to break it down so you can understand the real me
The truth of the matter is, I can't find the real me
But since I've been growing older, I'm looking at the mirror more closely
So every now and then I have to drop what I have to start over
Leave what I love in the past to find more love
But what we had is deeper than life so don't think we are over
And as the tears run down your face, I just sit in amazement
"Lord, please say she's alright."
Cause my heart just can't take it
But you said, "No matter what, you're still mines with no title."
*smiley face* I'll take it, baby, I'll take it.
