Resurrection of Love

Resurrection of Love

A Chapter by Erica Ross

We have come to a turning point in our endeavors
In our love, we have found an error
We would leave if we were smart,
We would leave if we were clever.
But you beg and you plead
You get down on your knees
You exclaim that you will do whatever
Until those beautiful eyes begin to bleed.
You see my eyes of wonder
I see your tears of trust
How can we revive this love
By not solely relying on lust
But we give it another chance
Just as foolish lovers do
It always started with me
But now it should end with you.

I love it. Sometimes a second chance is brave as it is reckless. Perfect.

Thank you !
This is a very powerful poem. Great rhythm, rhyme and flow. The last two lines are killers! Definitely ties the whole poem together to let the reader know that this will not be a rekindling out of desperation. Very well done, Erica.
