Along the Roadway

Along the Roadway

A Poem by Barbara Walker
"

How I feel about the bottles and cans laying along the road

"
Along the roadway edge,
thrown from the overpass,
where others see only trash,
my eyes spy cash!

I am loath to pass it by,
oh, how I hate to see the waste,
just to bury landfills high;
it's enough to make me cry!

There goes a loaf of bread,
rolled right on by coffee and cream,
goodbye gas for my tank-
It's these "No Stopping" signs I have to thank!
