~When You Leapt

~When You Leapt

A Poem by Frieda P

Your butterfly wings twisted
                    by fate & obscurity
               plummeting into the grand abyss
you took my heart with you when you leapt
hanging by a thread was no way to go
left behind memories, secrets and pain
now divided by death I can't help but wonder
was there peace in your decision to fall?

I think anyone who has had a loved one take their own life asked such questions... you will go crazy living with them unanswered, but you need to find peace by keeping them alive in your heart.

Have you ever heard "A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth... if not check it out.

Heavy heartbeats in this piece. The ever mysterious/heartvwrenching wondering, is there peace in that decision? I do not know. I think, it may come to faith or there just never is a answer.

More like 'never an answer'...thanks Shaun.
The wondering is so hard sweetie. And im not sure if your asking if she was at peace when she made that final decision or if it was peace that she sought and found. Ultimately you will never know and that surely tears at your heart. I do believe that she is at peace now as nothing bad here can reach us once we are gone.

This moved me..as all your poems about your sister do. Thank you for sharing your love of her and your sorrow with us. xo

I know the feeling . You are welcome...:)
Oh Frieda,

We never really know do we? What we do know is that there was love. I feel the coldness of that abyss and I am sorry for that. Your words know no heights and your heart knows no depths.
