~When You Leapt

~When You Leapt

A Poem by Frieda P

Your butterfly wings twisted
                    by fate & obscurity
               plummeting into the grand abyss
you took my heart with you when you leapt
hanging by a thread was no way to go
left behind memories, secrets and pain
now divided by death I can't help but wonder
was there peace in your decision to fall?

I think anyone who has had a loved one take their own life asked such questions... you will go crazy living with them unanswered, but you need to find peace by keeping them alive in your heart.

Have you ever heard "A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth... if not check it out.

Frieda, this was both touching & heartbreaking. I lost a member of my family to suicide two years ago and, while I wasn't that close with her, it was still such a shock. I don't think the "why?" can ever truly be answered. Thank you for sharing this.

Beautiful, touching and filled with sorrowed questions. Though each and every question pondered can if needed be shortened to simply use the word..."Why?" Frieda, you tug on us and pull is in directions we all would rather not go, though the pathways are lined with your endless beauty, what waits at the foot of the hill this time seems to be a cavern filled with tears. Very beautiful my friend.

Much appreciate your sentiments my dear friend.
Really sad and effective piece, someone's decision to lose their life to escape hardships can tore the lives of those left behind apart. Beautifully done.

Thanks so much, and yes it surely does.
This is so sad, Frieda. I don't know what to say or how I feel after knowing that your beloved one took his life... It's really heartrending.

Keep on holding to your faith so that he would have peace...
An impressive piece though covered with sadness. Keep going, Frieda.

When i was only 1 year old I lost my father at the age of 27 to a heart attack. He was told so many times to take care of himself but he refused. I lost him.....a void that can never be filled....
A touching and heart felt piece.

Oh my- very powerful- hit home for me in a way that can not be explained! Just a guess, but is this about suiside? The decision to fall... Into the abyss?.. Of death or of substance abuse or self absorption ?
