Poetry Procure

A Poem by Frieda P

Your ink injected into my soul
traced a straight line to my heart

 Intoxicating mind trances
        enlightened within balladry,
                    musings heady high

   Breathing in a whirlwind fire
                 heated to the core
       inhaling daydream's verse

   This addiction has no boundaries
there is no cure for poetry

It's good to get a little glimpse into another person through their writing. I think it's very human to seek commonality, we find validation when we find another mind like our own in some way.

Words, funny how an ethereal concept can be real enough to cause emotion.

I am probably a bad reviwer, but at the risk of repeating myself, I really admire the way Frieda breaks up
the phrases, other poets should follow this !

Au contraire Leslie, I love your reviews, thanks so much!
that second stanza is absolutely lovely in its language and the way it rolls off the tongue! there is most definitely no cure for the ups and downs of the sickness and beautiful blessing that is poetry. i must say i am so happy that you and i and many others among us here have been infected with it. you captured the sentiment well in this piece.

Ha, is that why? Thanks Red ;-)
Poetry fills many needs. It allows us our creativity and once we start it's hard to stop. You capture this within your beautiful words.

That is one powerful question...
Having only started writing poetry recently I can contest to how addicting it has become. I only wish the words would come at a much more convenient time.

Your poetry is always spoken so freely from the heart and soul, especially when writing about your dear sister. Thank you for always sharing your personal thoughts, my friend.

Awww thanks so much.
There is no cure, Frieda! None at all. The words swirl when I have other things I need to do. The words swirl when I need to sleep. When I sit down to write them, they come to a dead stop. I do believe my words are effing with me these days. Ha! Nicely done. Angi~
