~Autumn of my heart...

~Autumn of my heart...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Thank you sweet petulia (Emma Joy) for the luverly pic and inspiration.

"
There is a place of calm within my soul, an autumn that wraps around my heart that reminisces young and vintage memories where old friends visit, share the warmth of coffee, that place of colorful reverie whispers my name blush of summer gone and renewal has begun
shades of firewood on wood burning stoves as spirited leaves begin to fall to their demise I catch the memories like snowflakes on the tongue waiting in the shadows, a stoic season ready to nip its chill in this moment I relish the burnished views afore the golden, fruition of a gathering equinox of thoughts they dance amongst the scarlet hues playfully amused until old man winter comes to tuck them in yet again

I enjoyed the poem. The above is my favorite. Would be nice to gather with old friends. To be able to talk till we can't no more. Thank you for the memories and amazing poetry.

Thanks Jack, jazzed you enjoyed. :-)
Wonderful imagery!!! I was engaged throughout the entire poem. It was so cozy and beautiful, but still I felt a bit of sadness when winter washed away such wondrous memories. Very well-penned.

Thanks Gleb, glad you enjoyed.
you describe a very perfect Fall day ... how I miss those colors of upstate NY .. very drab in comparision here in the upper midwest. I like the idea that the renewal actually does begin now... one most likely thinks of that as spring kisses the snowflakes away... gentle breezes to you dear Frieda P ..very enjoyable experience you have shared with your poem, the music and pics.... sat until the end and even now am sitting in a little after glow ... I am going to come back to this when banshee winds are plastering snow on any and all verticle surfaces

Sometimes I do miss the changing seasons...you have touched some cherished memories here...a younger me, walking through autumn woods on my Grandparent's farm up on Lake Erie...
But then...b-r-r-r-r-r-r Those biting cold winters. Uh-uh...gimme the land of endless summer!!

Beautiful poem Luv...and lovely music with pictures to go with it. Sweet.

Thanks luviva....
These things and emotions of which you speak are not as visiable or prevelant down here in the Sunshine State...much the pity. Your friend in words, Pete

I guess there's something to be said for sunshine all year through, thanks Pete.
The warm, homey atmosphere you create with your words in this one is blissfully serene. Velvety soft images float down the page. The comfort of home and friends is felt by this reader. Yes, winter is coming, but even old man winter is a jovial soul because of the way you painted him here. Lovely....just lovely. Lydi**

Sweet of you to say Lydi, thanks so much.
Autumn is the completion..like the final pages of a riveting book that bring everything into perspective...You describe this colourful climax to summer with perfection....Then winter and the time of rest and meditation

Thanks so much Dave.
This gentle poem makes autumn sound a warm place. It whispers colours and peace and acceptance. The final line reminding us that winter has us retreat to our warm places (bed). Lovely as always with flows of complex notions told in silk.

Told in silk, I like that, thanks John.
I have always loved autumn as it's the doorway between summer and winter, the past and the future, the old we and the new we. It's a time for reflection, to appreciate the old and look forward to the new. As leaves scatter like jewels across the lawn, so too do your words, blown into the chambers of our hearts like scripted whispers of beauty born and beauty to be.
