`once in a twilight glean‏ing ~

A Poem by Frieda P

Your eyes a familiar vision of silent prayer ~
once in a redemption's twilight glean
ghostly shadow's communing in reality
movement of gravity touching in reverse
anamnesis in ascension's awareness
       unburdened of earthly nuances
essence of a spirit's reborn Platonism
moments flood a flawed legacy
   floating above Aurora's freedom
flowing on ethereal dimension’s wings
whispers of familial souls hush the air
resurrected sounds on high of angel’s rush
awakened in sensibility's sentimentality
herein lies the beauty of a new beginning
songs that live on in a token heart's dream

Oh i look forward for this invitations as the anticipation of what will it be is palpable. And today an offering of the realms of the transitory, of the change I think the ondines comes to mind as the lines go on sharing with us not only are they responsible for the physicality of winds but also for the deliverance of wisdom through the ages. The language is soft yet very descriptive, the reference not all that intricate as I was able to find relationships a plenty. And the final paragrah that let's us know that the value of this experiences needs treasuring and appreciated in the most tender of ways.

Oh so tender.

Thankyou very much Frieda.

It is always a pleasure

beautiful tribute once again...soft, melodic piece...the quiet alliteration almost subliminally sneaks up on us as the emotion bounces us from line to line.

I hope I'm right in my assessment, but there appears to be an undercurrent of inner peace in this one, or comfort, I'm not sure what the right word would be, but it gives me hope that you're able to find some positive vibes in your reflections...there is still a sense of loss, which is natural, that will always be there, but it's offset by some imagery that seems as if it could go either way, such as in the last line...there are happy songs and there are sad songs, but they all define our heart and our dreams, and our memories...the 'essence of a spirit reborn' has an uplifting feel to it, as does 'the beauty of a new beginning'...all in all, I'm hoping that this poem is a true reflection of how you're feeling, but I've never known a poem of yours to not be that...as always, you've taken a host of intense emotions and laid them out in a way that truly reflects the so-called human condition...as strongly personal as your words always are, they are palpable to anyone who has the pleasure of taking in your unspeakable talent...amazing and awe-inspiring work as always Mrs.R...xo

The subtle contradictions in this are truly entrancing, adding onto the whimsical atmosphere to make it even more whimsical and enticing, successfully portraying your speaker's relationship with a mysterious significant other person: a relationship that seems to tear apart the world, a relationship that doesn't make sense, yet works. It truly is entrancing, as I've said earlier. Well done.

"herein lies the beauty of a new beginning
songs that live on in a token heart's dream"
I appreciate the warmth of hope in these lines Frieda. Makes me think about the possibilities that reside in dreams, especially those that while running ahead of the reality of today see their realization in the realities of what could actually be as they flow from and are acted on today.

I think what all the reviewers before me have said, you have created in your poetry a way to see the new arising from the old and fetid ugly past, a way that inspires in us a need to see this with you.... it's a wonderful gift you give us I think...

How could we not desire to soar after reading, " floating above Aurora's freedom" ??
Thanks Frieda, I am gleaning in twlight

Very interesting choice of music.
The story line of Halo 2 takes us to a new planet, not ours yet familiar, where a glorious battle is fought.
And there is after any battle, rebuilding, rebirth, healing.
Nice write. Really enjoyed it for the message I take away...

I know, the games frustrate me, but the music is really amazing. :)
Such a mingling of darkness and light... of dying and rising... and the mystic realms are transformed into wondrous music that goes on... forever...

You're sweet Woody, yes, I hail from the non-existent planet Pluto. Thanks muchly. :)
This is really perfect with this music. It just has that instant gooseflesh effect. Well done. And "anamnesis in ascension's awareness" is an outstanding line.

Woo thanks so much, I liked that line too, muchly appreciated.
Knowledge from past incarnations indeed my Lady. An ethereal feel to this deep but sadly sensitive piece. Perhaps learning from past mistakes and relationships? Metaphors to indulge in.
