this thing, life
as we know it,
an epic shitstorm,
endemically so,
so big only God fights it
because His evil twin causes
ev'ry bit of it, black against white,
creating a pyramid of trouble
so high, so huge, so truly hairy that our
minds find to comprehend the natural causes
behind the disasters, behind human suffering
so we invent tales that make our lowly human minds feel
better, and quite possibly our intangible spirits too.
or maybe, just maybe, that is the hard truth, the stories are true
