Warm Gentle Breeze

Warm Gentle Breeze

A Poem by Einstein Noodle

Warm Gentle Breeze
not warm like muffins
fresh from the steaming oven
tanned, domed caps
more as an infant's breath; close
as taste.
not gentle like downy feathers, nor
mother's soft skin touch, nor as
aubergine dew drops leave traces; but
more as memories conjure dreams un-
awakened and smiling bubbles from the well.
breezes not like those first in Spring from
the south; nor those rare in late Fall
sixty degrees and lemon chiffon
but like in facing sightless
weight is lifted from shoulders; tension from necks
melting directly into a
warm gentle breeze

oh gosh I know that breeze ... its like the closing your eyes and feeling the universe kiss your cheeks ... I love that moment of melting between me and the rest of reality ... You know when I was in Kyoto, Japan, I was in a Zen temple with a friend of mine and unusually this Zen temple which is usually very busy was momentarily quiet. I sat on the wooden verandah looking out onto the famous zen garden and closed my eyes and that breeze you talk of above, well that's what I felt as time stood still and I gathered up all of my senses to keep that tiny moment with me forever ... ahh ... and wen I close my eyes right now, it's there and it holds that little piece of magic that connects us all.

Thank you for taking me back there ... X

All the examples you give us are delectable tidbits of life. To feel a breeze kiss my cheek is to taste that muffin, touch that baby's cheek, and feel my mother's touch again....oh, if only. To know you are in the right place at the right time and all is right with the world. A breath of fresh air. Wonderfully uplifting. The artwork is beautiful. lydi**

This piece has an ethereal feel to it. I like how your descriptions melt into one another and capture how it feels to transcend the earth ... it's a feeling that goes beyond ordinary pleasure. This reminded me of Edgar Poe's saying that "Beauty is the province of every poem." The artwork was enthralling too.

LOVE your art. Love your construction of "this, not that" (interesting juxtapositions & contrasts). This is one of your poems that I can best relate to & understand & follow with ease. I am jealous of all your different ways to SHOW instead of tell, with so many unusual & well-stated examples. It amazes me to see such uninhibited ways of seeing & describing.

No warm breezes here, just close to 2 foot of snow and deer flocking to the feeders for apples, corn and hay. AK is on your profile, where do you live in that warmth? Valentine

I know it's Christmas time and all...a bit nippy here. I feel your reference to fall sixty degrees and lemon chiffon.😋BUT, I could so join in on one of those garden days, throwing a blanket out on the ground. Gathering up some cheese and wine. Soaking in the gentle breeze. Smiling a sun soaked dream..... ty for warming my spirit today!!!!
