Warm Gentle Breeze

not warm like muffins

fresh from the steaming oven

tanned, domed caps

more as an infant's breath; close

as taste.

not gentle like downy feathers, nor

mother's soft skin touch, nor as

aubergine dew drops leave traces; but

more as memories conjure dreams un-

awakened and smiling bubbles from the well.

breezes not like those first in Spring from

the south; nor those rare in late Fall 

sixty degrees and lemon chiffon

but like in facing sightless

weight is lifted from shoulders; tension from necks

melting directly into a 

warm gentle breeze

oh gosh I know that breeze ... its like the closing your eyes and feeling the universe kiss your cheeks ... I love that moment of melting between me and the rest of reality ... You know when I was in Kyoto, Japan, I was in a Zen temple with a friend of mine and unusually this Zen temple which is usually very busy was momentarily quiet. I sat on the wooden verandah looking out onto the famous zen garden and closed my eyes and that breeze you talk of above, well that's what I felt as time stood still and I gathered up all of my senses to keep that tiny moment with me forever ... ahh ... and wen I close my eyes right now, it's there and it holds that little piece of magic that connects us all.

Transports me to early summer, parked up on the bench in my back garden, only coffee, quiet and the pooch for company. The suns warmth welcomed onto my face as a soft breeze ruffles the leaves overhead... bliss.

How to describe the feelings and emotions embodied in a warm gentle breeze wonderful thing to put out there perhaps some Things just aren't describable I love the painting so reminiscent of van Gogh solid bright colors. Is it strange how sights and sounds are the keys to unlocking hidden memories of times gone by

The picture which I find to be so like van Gogh reminds me of why we like van Gogh so much his pictures while they seem to be simple aren't. He saw things in brighter colors than we did. You know in his lifetime he never sold a painting he sent them all home to his mother who use them to line her chicken coop I have a theory on him he tended from what I hear to put his brushes in his mouth in between strokes and the bad from the paint I think was observed into his body causing his madness he would go to a sanitarium where he wouldn't paint and he would get better but when I go back to painting again he would get worse but I think the madness is what led him to use the solid right color rather than to mix them in the Hughes that is what we like about his pictures they define an emotion

yes ...such a pity science and medicine was not as ahead of the times as he ... the leaded paints did a number on him no doubt :( i did not know that about his paintings .. must go a googlin' today ;)
