Energy

Energy

A Poem by Crowley

I awoke to the blessed sound of the universe expanding
The fact that I drew breath that morning evidence enough
That I was a part, big or small, primetime or extra, of the exponential growth
I ate breakfast as energy, I worked as energy, I wrote as energy
Oh and I loved as only a creator can love, passionately, with my socks on

Look at you, you bundle of life, look long into the mirror
And take stock of how deep your eyes truly are and smile
Your day has just begun and yet you know by the end, you will have built empires
That poem you wrote is a bridge, that story a skyscraper, that painting, good lord, that painting

Come sit with me and let's hold hands and talk about what makes us happy, because it all should
Come lay with me and let's hold hands and think about how to make the world happy, but not at our expense
Come walk with me and lets hold hands and not say a thing until the universe needs our input

Wow, an opening line that lets you know you are alive and there is lots of living and loving to do. A great way to awake. This write is full of power from the minute eyes opened. Your last lines speak earnestly and knowingly. An awe inspiring write.

What an energising poem, so fiull of positivity and it started before you even sat down to breakfast. Electrifying in its uplifting and radiating mood. I was left thinking cor, I wish you could bottle that and sell it. I'd buy it. Thank you Crowley

A poem that gives you a pretty good kick and reminds you to LIVE! I loved it. especially the first line "I awoke to the blessed sound of the universe expanding" had me hooked right there! very creative! :)

Passionately with my socks on. Genuinely laughing

The last stanza is astounding in the fact that it shows real love and a partnership. Holding hands and walking or laying side by side shows equality and respect for one another. Has been ages since I read any of your work and I must say it’s brilliant as always.

It’s good to see that you still have a way of spinning a visual tale
We all crave more energy! We all love it when a message is conveyed with energy! This poem is the antithesis of sluggishness. I love how this poem is the perfect blend of straightforward & whimsical . . . of making focused points while meandering thru your observations. The last 3 lines are particularly thought-provoking becuz they do not follow directly from the rest of your message, but feel a little "all over the place" in a pleasing energetic way! You finish with points we weren't expecting to follow from this topic, but which are brilliant in their inventiveness (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thanks, sweetie . . . seize life when it's in your face! *smile*
Perhaps what we feel inside is what we need for energy, relativity, and most other words ending in
y' that make sense. Every day we have the right to our view of life and its clasp of and on human comings and goings. We can join in, stir and mix a little, or, sit back and watch, nodding, laughing, learning. It's so easy to forget that dawn comes every day, whatever the weather; that love lies somewhere in its own human or spiritual form.. and, we are blessed with a daily helping of energy from any source we choose, greed excepted.. Like the loaves and little rishes, . leave some for others and gently strengthen an energy nobody can or ever will understand. Perhaps?

Your last three lines could sink a ship with tearful wonderment, Crowley. Your words inevitably inspire - gently;, often with humour, rarely demanding.. and you inspire.. And I for sure could do with a heap of that right now.

your title drew me in .. i love when science and poetry are combined .. spiritual undertones seems always the outcome ... i get up early, Crowley, ... its 2:30 AM and iv'e already been up an hour and my 2 cups of coffee self limit ... i appreciate the focus of your poem ... taking a breath first off .. grateful once again to wake ;) the intimate sharing with another human being .. without taking ... is sublime .. to stop and think about energy ... the incredible power swirling about in all things ... what have we got it down to now ...quarks and leptons ...who in the world gave them names like that ... maybe we need more artsy fartsy people in those circles eh!? :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) nice scene you create sir! thinking about the gift of my breath right now

“That poem you wrote is a bridge...” among the many truths in your poem! This is why I read poetry. It inspires and binds me to humanity—the good parts. I need to read words like yours more often. An extraordinary poem I’ll recall tomorrow morning when I wake. Thank you for sharing!
