I'm just a tin can

I'm just a tin can

A Poem by Muse

I'm just a tin can.
I'm telling you....
it was not part of my plan.
Tobacco chew,
with gum from your shoe,
caterpillars,
pencils,
left-handed scissors,
snails,
nails,
and yesterdays mail,
car keys,
bees,
the sand and the breeze,
mushy pears,
chocolate eclair,
now I hold a mint flower;
once placed in your hair.

I absolutely love this! Personally I find the creativeness sublime. What talent to take a little can that has sat in so many lives and give it voice. The can that has held the quill of the poet who with never a thought to this faitful conveyance spills the blood of their heart across paper then callously drops the spent scribe int it.

Ah the little tin can! I just love this!

The poem felt like a lament of being used for less than you could have been. A sense of devaluation. Yet, a look back wistfully remembering your place in everything and everything that was placed in you. Could be way off base, but I enjoyed my own delusional trip into this poem. After all, some of us a just the flowers wilting in your tin can... :-)

ha ha ha...that's not a dimple...cellulite hit that can. lol
Enjoyed the lovely poem.
Enjoyed the amazing reviews too.
But,it reminded me of Tin Drum, the novel of Günter Grass and the film based on the novel. It is just for the coincidence of the word 'Tin' and nothing else.
The poem reminded the film which I watched long ago.
Digging through YouTube,I found a segment to share with you.
Hope you will like it.
This is for the amazing poem of Muse.

I love this .. esp the Left Handed Scissors bit ! Sometimes I feel a bit like a pair of left handed scissors. Nice to know there is always a place to hang out.

There is great verve and life in this little poem.

Thank God for tin cans. If not for those, I'd have no idea where to put all my good stuff. (You know--"Land of the Lost" ticket stubs, homemade guitar picks, etc)

Short and fun and full of flowing child like play, teasing and moving like a kids game through the playground.
