A Poem by jenniewren (J.W. Bouwman)

discoveries
can still happen, you know
even when your slightly jaded heart
thinks you know absolutely
everything
there is to know
about a person
about yourself
things can spark a flutterypulseheartbeat knowledge
that your world still holds wonder

and when they do?
they're always the simple ones
that everyone else misses:

the jolt when your laughter
fits between the pauses
his laughter creates
just for you
waiting
as if it were always
waiting
just for you
to fill them

a breath of a sigh
enclosed by a look
you haven't seen him give
yet you know
there is where your history was born

Oh!! jennie..i am in love with this poem *smiles..i know i say that for almost all your poems..but this one is so so..i just don't know what to say..so very magical..some sparkling beauty in your soul and mind comes together with these words for you have weaved together something so beautiful jennie ...that i am speechless...
each time i read your writes..i am like ..hey i felt like this but how come i couldn't come with the right words to express this...
a breath of a sigh
enclosed by a look
you haven't seen him give
yet you know
there is where your history was born
there is such intrigue and poignancy in that last phrase ..i can only gasp in awe at the splendor of your creation..
what can i say...this can only be words born out of a soul who truly knows how to love and wants to be loved in return..
super duper work jenniewren *hugs.

another great write...although for some reason the second half doesn't match the first for me...
I absolutely love the idea of this poem....yes we definitely can keep on learning, and the day we think we know it all, is when arrogance and fear creep in and we're lost to new experiences....
first and second stanzas are just fantastic and hit home with me...

Love the word 'flutterypulseheartbeat' sooo clever ;)

You should trying aligning your poems on the left, rather than in the middle I find them easier to read that way!

Keep well my friend *smiles*

(p.s. will email you soon, just have exams to study for at the moment)

things can spark a flutterypulseheartbeat knowledge
that your world still holds wonder--------------------------- this is an outstanding metaphor, I so liked it. It is a wonderful way to say, the beauty lies in the details around me. And you remind me, often someone's laughter makes my day! Actually, I laugh not enough.. a breath of a sigh.. indeed. Thank you! I feel so well when reading your poetry, it is always written from the heart.

When we forget to appreciate the small things and not look forward to the meeting of two people. We must find the right road again. The poem is beautiful. I like the feel and desire of hope and love in your words. Last lines were outstanding. A excellent poem.

I am glad Swaha asked me to read this delightful jewel... It has a light freshness and a charm that captures one's heart... The structure seems to work well; I liked that original line: 'things can spark a flutterypulseheartbeat knowledge'. Thank you
