voyage

A Poem by joshua deathdealer

"
Untouched rose petals float on the winds of your dream,
leisurely flowing towards the burning center of this mirage,
clouds carry my hopes away across what remains of your sky.

Disintegrating rays of sunshine brighten my face as your apparition
descends to lay beside me upon our berth of spoken promises,
my aspiring hands reach to mend the cracks in your silvery skin.

Familiar conversations replay in gentler tones, while we hold
dearly onto reflections that time is so eager to eat away.

Shouts and cries cut through your lingering intoxicating scent as
they shake me in effort to wake me from these generated scenes
out of fear that I may never be able to return to harsh reality.

I have wandered aimlessly though the brightly painted fields,
sailed the raging oceans detailed on the pages of your heart
and here in the comfort of your soothing memories, I will stay.

A beautiful and tragic poem, sometimes certian memories bring us comfort so we linger in them, but we much not get stuck in them unable to get out for we loose sight of reality that way. However sometimes maybe it is better to stay in those memories if the reality is hell. Maybe being a little insane in that way could be bliss?

Have read a few poems tonight. This was one of the special ones. Like a ship I was blown from thought to thought, the voyage was memorable. Thankyou.

I normally wld not read two poems back to back from the same writer ... maybe it's like wine tasting. But after Courtroom D -- forgot to sy i think it's a great title -- I went for this one still on a high from D. The think that struck me strongly is that you are just as good with something soft-n-gentle-dreamy as you are with the slap of reality in D. Now I have this vision of your two poems in a cage having to fight it out to see which one bosses my mind. Ach, now I see the hippie mom beating the soothing memories over the head with a harsh look! I like the dreamy romance of this one, but Courtroom D wins for me. If I read them both again tmr it might be the other way around.
