Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Linear
"

A place of rest

"
A place of solitude, alone from this world
is the where i long to be

Alone to ease my pain
to heal my wounds and one day
to be free

Solitude is my love
she waits for me, calls to me

I long to hold her close
to feel icy breath at last
send shivers down my neck,

Rest will one day come, and in the arms of my solitude
I must surrender
close these ears to all this constant thunder

a lovely poem...makes you think of a quiet corner.

Makes me want to take a dirt nap right now. Very relaxing read, life is so loud and so busy its hard to find that place to be alone with yourself. And even if you manage, its even harder to shut your mind off. Nice job.

Such a beautiful poem. I crave solitude now. Sometimes I want to see no one at all. Solitude is as comforting as a homemade .quilt in winter. Lovely

A beautiful, and sad poem. My favorite lines are definitely the last two, because I loved how they rhymed so effortlessly. The ones that hit me most, however, are in the 3rd and 4th stanza. Wonderfully written.

That last thought in this poem made me exhale in my mind. You creatively gave death a beautiful, angelic face. Most paint death with violent, angry strokes. But you have given death, solitude, benevolence. Kindness away from the strife of life. And for that, you go into my favorites.

. ahhhh ... you inspire me to write something about solitude ... and i shall in a bit ... but for now ... i'll just say ... that life's much more fun ... on the other side of solitude ... what good is the massive population of the world ... if it can't take care of good old solitude ... :) ...
