Catch

Catch

A Poem by Melissa
"

Written July 2008 for L

"

Let’s leave these

ominous thoughts behind, these questions of

Now, and Then, and When, and How.

Guesses will do us no good; they’ll be disguised like

amber stars on a dark

night,

lost until we discover that

one moment, suspended in future memories.

Nothing matters but us.  Forget where we’re

going, or not going.

A forbidden journey, perhaps, but

not a mistake.

how nice, how wonderfully nice, to be tiptoeing through these pages and discover another fine poet, one who can say and see with grace and precision, and depth, the simple and complex things of life...how very nice

I love "Then & Now" pieces of art, and it's told here very beautifully. I love how cosmic your descriptions are when describing how you want to get away. Very good write!

A very assertive piece about the here and now. I am often torn as to whether it is best to plan and chase that plan, or to live in the here and now. You've intensified the question.

This poem rocks! As aforementioned, the last stanza is not only inspiring, but intriguing. And the term "future memories"...nice one! That is some clever wordsmithing.
Great job!

Ahhh I am very intrigued by this write and the ending was fantastic

A forbidden journey, perhaps, but
not a mistake.

So true that sometimes the crazy ideas we have are often the ones that bring us the most joy.
